The annual North Beds CAMRA Bedford Beer and Cider Festival opens its doors at the Corn Exchange today, until Saturday (5 October).
Around 140 cask ales and about 50 ciders and perries will be available in the main hall during the festival, including Marston’s Eagle ale, brewed in Queens Park and sponsored by the Bedford Independent.
Imported draught and bottled international beers from six European countries and the USA will be on sale in the international beer bar in the Howard Room.
A hand-made chocolate stall will also help you match chocolate with your favourite beer, while a specialist mead bar will join the beer and cider in the main hall.
Local entertainers will perform on Wednesday and Saturday evenings, with Fran Pegg and Pete Bonas opening the festival on Wednesday and Carlos Linnett and Nick Wood closing proceedings on Saturday.
Red Cuthbert Morris dancers are expected to perform in the main hall on Saturday lunchtime and early afternoon. Members of other Morris teams are welcome to join in.
The festival opens from 4pm – 11pm on Wednesday and noon – 11pm on Thursday and Friday.
Saturday timings are 11.30am to 10.30pm.
Admission charges vary according to day and time but CAMRA members are free at all sessions.
