Bedfordia Farms raise thousands for local charities

An astonishing £6,781.96 was raised by Bedfordia Farms when they opened its gates to the public on 19 June for Open Farm Sunday.

Bedfordia donated to three charities, Impakt Housing, FCN (Farming Community Network) and East Anglia Air Ambulance.

The charities will each receive £2,260.65.

Sarah Cunningham, Community Fundraising at East Anglia Air Ambulance said: “It proved to be a hugely successful day and I’d like to thank everyone involved, we really appreciate your support.

“It’s donations like this that keep us flying and saving lives.”

The event was free to enter and provided activities for families, an educational area, a machinery display, Young Farmers competitions, tea tent, hog roast, and rides around the farm.

Bedfordia is a part of LEAF (Linking Environment and Farming) and the day was all about finding where food comes from and how a working farm operates.

The annual event returns next year on Sunday 11 June 2023.
