The Eagles picked up another huge win away from home to extend their unbeaten league run to twelve games this season as goals from the skipper Alex Collard and debutant Albie Hall secured another big victory.

The Eagles had three debutants in the line-up all of which were signings announced earlier in the week, with Carl Mensah, Fernando Bell-Toxtle, and Albie Hall all starting for Bedford.

Bedford started the game well and limited Stotfold to few chances. Eventually, the Eagles took the lead through the captain Alex Collard. This came from an Adam Watkins throw in which went on to find the head of Collard to get his sixth goal of the season.

Almost immediately after the goal, Stotfold had a brilliant chance to make it 1-1. The Eagles couldn’t clear the ball as it fell to Henry Snee in a great position, but his effort was well saved by Mark Smith. The half time score remained 1-0 to Lee Bircham’s side.

Three minutes after the restart, the Eagles made it two as Louis Walsh went on another one of his signature runs down the wing and found Albie Hall in the box to head home his first Eagles goal.

Ryan Blake almost made it three after going on a great run through the middle but his effort was well saved by Alfie Bonfield.

Bedford then went on to shut out Stotfold for the rest of the half whilst also threatening at the other end of the pitch, but there were no more goals as the game ended in a 2-0 win for the Eagles.

Another three points for Lee Bircham’s side who sit top of the table with a game in hand whilst remaining three points clear of North Leigh in second place.

Up next, it’s a big local derby as the Eagles face Kempston Rovers at The Eyrie this Saturday. Tickets for the clash are available to purchase here.
