Bedford Town and Real Bedford team up to offer free bus travel for football fans

The new non-league football season kicks off on Saturday, 9 August, with both Bedford Town and Real Bedford at home to begin their respective league campaigns and both clubs have now collaborated to offer free bus travel for fans to travel to The Eyrie and Ledger Stadium.

The new partnership with Grant Palmer will last for the entirety of the 2025/26 season, with fans simply having to show their matchday or season ticket or any club merchandise for the Eagles or the Pirates to be eligible for their free ticket to Meadow Lane.

All services begin at Bedford Bus station, with numbers 72, 73 and 74 heading towards both football grounds with the offer available for every Saturday home game involving Bedford Town or Real Bedford.

The 72 and 73 services stop directly outside both grounds, while the 74 service stops at Priory Business Park.

Buses will run from midday through to the end of the day, so fans can make a day of it without worrying about parking or travel costs.

Bedford Town kick off their National League North campaign against Alfreton Town on Saturday (9 August) while Real Bedford – who also gained promotion last season – begin their Southern League Premier Central season against Spalding United at the Ledger Stadium.

Both clubs finished their pre-seasons on Saturday, 2 August as Bedford Town lost 3-1 at Taunton Town in Somerset, while Real Bedford completed a 100% pre-season campaign with a 4-2 victory at home to St Albans City – their sixth win in a row.
