Bedford Parkrun cancelled amid fears of high winds

With winds of 43mph forecast for tomorrow (Saturday) morning, the directors of Bedford Parkrun have taken the decision to cancel the event.

“It is with a very heavy heart that I must cancel tomorrow’s parkrun,” said a statement from the run director.

“Winds are set to get up to 43mph which is just a little bit too windy for our liking.”

Bedford Parkrun takes place every Saturday at 9am in Bedford Park. It is a timed 5km run, free for anyone to take part.

“[Runners’] safety will always be our priority and as such we must think about the area that we run in,” continued the statement.
