Bedford MP lays foundations for new Putnoe retirement living development

Mohammad Yasin MP recently donned a hard hat to help lay the building blocks of the new Oakhill Place Retirement Living Plus development on Overdale in Putnoe.

He joined McCarthy and Stone’s Area Sales Manager, Chad Goldsmith, Senior Site Manager, Pat Daly and Site Manager David Flanagan to inspect the development plans and lay a date brick to mark the start of construction.

The Oakhill Place apartments are designed for the over 70s, with first occupants moving in this October.

“It was a pleasure to visit the site of McCarthy and Stone’s new development in Bedford, and to mark the start of construction there,” said Mr Yasin.

“It was a good opportunity to meet the site team and hear about the housebuilder’s plans to help meet the needs of retirees in Bedford and the surrounding areas.”

As the number of older residents in Bedford increases, retirement developments are becoming more and more popular.

Residents are able to maintain an independent lifestyle, while also having access to tailored domestic and personal assistance packages to help them manage their day-to-day lives.
