Along with other non-essential retailers, the Debenhams store on Bedford High Street will be reopening its doors on 12 April, and manager Julia Horsman is looking forward to welcoming their loyal customers back.

The Bedford branch is among 124 Debenhams stores that will be opening up to sell off all remaining stock ahead of the expected notice of closure.

The retail chain went into administration with the hope that a buyer could be found. Its new owner, boohoo, confirmed that it would be taking the brand online, closing all of the bricks-and-mortar stores and leaving gaping holes in 124 high streets and shopping centres.

Quoted on the Love Bedford website, Bedford store manager, Julia said she and her colleagues were looking forward to welcoming customers back to the popular store for as long as the sale continues.
