A Bedford local and his university friend have set off on a 500-mile multisport endurance challenge across the UK to raise £10,000 for testicular cancer awareness.
Dom Price, 27, who lives in Bedford, and Mike Rowlands, 28, who lives in Leeds, are cycling between and climbing the National Three Peaks within seven days.

National challenge
The itinerary, which began on Monday (31 August), requires the pair to climb Ben Nevis in Scotland, cycle down to Scafell Pike in the Lake District, and finish by cycling into Snowdonia to scale Snowdon.
The total route covers over 500 miles.
The fundraising drive supports The Oddballs Foundation, the UK’s leading charity dedicated to raising awareness of testicular cancer.
Dom explained that the motivation stems from a shared commitment to men’s health services.
Dom said: “We take on these challenges as we think it’s extremely important to support those who are in need.”
He added that men’s health remains an urgent matter and “without people hard work fundraising a lot of these charities and foundations wouldn’t be able to support the people that they do.”
The duo met while studying together at Leeds Beckett University and have built a history of extreme endurance projects.
Previous efforts
In 2023, the pair completed a 48-mile ultra marathon for Movember, running two miles every hour for 24 consecutive hours.
They followed that effort last year by climbing Snowdon non-stop for 24 hours in severe November weather conditions.
Mike currently works as a partnerships manager at a sports tech company, while Dom remains based in Bedford.
Sports hydration brand FourFive is providing sports nutrition and hydration products to support the team during the week-long challenge.
Bedfordians can track the team’s progress on social media via their Instagram account, The National Three Peaks Cycle.
Donations to the £10,000 target can be made at their official JustGiving page.
