Bedford College students turn heads and stop traffic in style

Bedford College Hair and Beauty show 2019 3

Bedford College’s Hair and Beauty students paraded their traffic-stopping styles through Bedford town centre last week, ahead of their annual show.

They then made their way to the Bedford Corn Exchange, where nearly 100 models and style artists wowed the audience with their creations themed ‘Under the Sea’.

Winning students at the event shared £500 worth of Love Bedford gift vouchers.

The college’s hair and beauty manager, Kerry Attfield, said: “The show is the highlight of the year for students as it gives them a taste of the excitement of the world of high fashion as it exists outside of the local salon.

“It is also a great showcase for Bedfordshire businesses to see the talent we are producing at Brooks training salon.”

Christina Rowe, form sponsors Bedford BID added: “This show adds glamour and youthful excitement to the town centre – we love it”.

Now more than ever, we need your help to fund the Bedford Independent’s quality journalism that serves our community...

We choose to champion editorial independence, meaning we report the facts without bias and can stand up to those in power when we believe it’s needed.

We can give a voice to people in our community whose voices may otherwise not be heard. And we don’t have a paywall, so everyone can read the stories we publish for free.

But in this time of crisis, many news organisations all over the world are facing existential threat, with advertising revenues plummeting. We’re no different.

We work hard every day to bring you news, commentary, entertainment and announcements from across Bedford. We hope that, with your help, we’ll be able to continue this for many years to come.
