Bedford College Group has taken part in an event at No. 10, Downing Street to highlight the importance of apprenticeships and how the group is leading the way in delivering work-based learning for young people across the region.
Bedford College Group CEO Ian Pryce CBE and Executive Director Debbie Houghton visited the Prime Minister’s official residence at the start of National Apprenticeships Week earlier this month (6 February).
There they joined other education providers to discuss the future of apprenticeships before attending a reception at the Houses of Parliament for all organisations who have been short-listed for an AAC Apprenticeship Award.
“This was an exciting day showcasing The Bedford College Group at the highest level for apprenticeships across the region,” said Debbie Houghton, the executive director of apprenticeships and business development.
“Our Group is well established as the premier provider of the widest range of apprenticeships across Bedfordshire and Northamptonshire.
“These invitations and the nomination for this award indicates the high esteem in which the Group has come to be held under the long leadership of our CEO Ian Pryce CBE.
“We work closely with employers large and small, and major local organisations to increase the opportunities for young people”.
The Bedford College Group are a finalist in the Apprenticeship Equality, Diversity and Inclusion Provider Recognition Award category.
The award winners will be announced at the Annual Apprenticeship Conference, hosted by FE Week and the Association of Employment and Learning Providers (AELP), in Birmingham on 14 March.
