Bedford child knocked off bike on the way to school

A child was knocked off their bike on his way to school this morning (13 May) but is said to have only received minor injuries from the incident.

Police confirm they were called to a collision between a car and a pedestrian near the entrance of St. Thomas More School on Tyne Crescent, Bedford at about 08:30 this morning.

Eye witnesses say the child was a Scott Primary School pupil and was seen sitting up and chatting but visibly upset.

An ambulance was called and he was taken to hospital, but his injuries aren’t believed to be serious.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the collisions to call 101 quoting reference 69 of 13 May.
