Beds Prostate Cancer Support Group (BPCSG) is urging all men aged 40 and over to attend their blood testing event next month.
According to the Prostate Cancer UK website, one in eight men will get prostate cancer. If you’re over 50, or you’re black, or your dad or brother had it, you’re at even higher risk.
Prostate cancer is not always life-threatening. But when it is, the earlier you catch it the more likely it is to be cured.
The PSA blood test is able to detect the early signs of Prostate Cancer and you can book a time slot for the event on Saturday 1 October, between 10am and 2pm, by visiting the Bedford Prostate Cancer Support Group website.
Simply click on ‘Find a Testing Event (Bedford)’ and follow the registration instructions for the event at Kings House on Ampthill Road.
The charity covers half of the cost of test; anyone booking a test pays just £10 using the code BEDS50. You must have an appointment as they are not able to accept walk-ins.
There is plenty of parking available at the venue.
