Bedford brewer Wells & Co. have said The Pheasant pub on Kimbolton Road will return as the “life and soul of the area” after announcing they’re taking it back into their managed estate.
The pub will now be run directly by the brewery and will get a “brand new look” similar to the recent successful refurbishment of The Gordon Arms on Castle Road.
The Bedford Independent has been told that work on the pub will begin shortly and is due to reopen after Easter.
There will be a new look inside, brand new signage and a “refreshed” new-look garden area to “welcome families and beer drinkers alike.”
Shirley Couchman, retail director, Wells & Co. said: “We’re very much looking forward to working on the refurbishment of The Pheasant.
“We know it’s an important part of the community and just like the Gordon Arms, we’re very excited to bring it back to life and return it as the life and soul of the area.
“We are proud of our portfolio and look forward to updating one of our pubs so close to where our story started. It’s one of several exciting forthcoming developments within our estate over the next few years.”
The brewery hopes to also revitalise the pub’s annual calendar too with what they say will be an “exciting range of events and entertainment” alongside ” a fantastic food offer, and of course, Brewpoint’s award-winning range of beers, brewed just down the road.”
The pub is the latest to join 25 others as a Wells UK managed pub, with plans to reach 29 by the end of 2022.
