The King William to reopen under Wells managed division

Kempston neighbourhood pub, The King William will be taken over by Bedford family brewer and pub company, Wells & Co.

Formerly a leased & tenanted site, the favourite local will be taken directly into the hands of the company and become a Managed house.

Becoming a Managed House means the company will directly employ their staff, be in control of the amazing food menu and offering and of course, be serving their award-winning Brewpoint beers, brewed just 4.6 miles down the road.

The site will be taken over in the next few weeks and will undergo a major refurbishment in 2023.

Amy Gatier, General Manager of The King William said, “We’re so excited to be able to add The King William to the Wells & Co. managed family. The site is simply stunning and in a fantastic, prominent location.

“We can’t wait to welcome locals and those from afar, to join the King Bill (as it’s more famously known) this Christmas and to then re-welcome them back to a completely refurbished site in the New Year.”

And they’re not stopping there; joining The King William in to the managed division will be The Rose in Stapleford and The Nightingale in Bicester.

Wells & Co. currently have a total of 30 managed houses including Bedford favourites D’Parys, The Park, The Pheasant and The Gordon Arms and have growth plans to see the company reach a further 20 sites in the next few years.

The Wells team are on a hunt for a brilliant team to run the pub. If you’re interested, please visit https://harri.com/wellsandcocareers.
