A 16-year old powerhouse from Wixams is on the hunt for funding to travel to Florida to compete in the Official Strongman Games, after winning the junior version of ‘Midlands Strongest Man’.
Liam Stringer, who has also placed third in the Novice Men’s category at Northamptonshire’s Strongest Man, is hoping to compete in the teen 16 to 18 category in the States, and is now looking for financial help to do so.

If he makes it, it will be the first time he represents the UK in a strongman event overseas.
“My dream is to become the World’s Strongest Man”, says Liam who has already competed in a number of events designed for men older than him.
“I have set my sights on the teenage title at the Official Strongman Games World Championships in Florida, and I need your help to get me there as the paper round doesn’t quite cover it!”
Liam’s costs include the competition entry fee, flights, accommodation and the costs of a visa. The total comes to approximately £2,070.

Liam began competing in ‘Strongman’ events in 2025 at the age of 15 and has already gone on to win titles, most notably in the Under-15 and Under-19 Kaos Strongest Man competitions.
A further win at the Midlands Strongest Junior competition as part of the ‘Forge of the Giants’ tournament, setting three new personal bests in the process, has only raised his stock further.
“I’ve trained with and met some world class athletes over the past 18 months, and have made countless friends through competitions which just makes me love the sport more,” adds Liam.
“I would appreciate every share, every good luck wish and every penny I receive and want to keep everyone updated in my journey to the World Championships.”
The World Strongman Games take place in Ocala, Florida from 20-22 November 2026.
Liam has already raised the majority of the funds needed to get to Florida, but you can help him over the finish line by donating to his GoFundMe page here.
