A 22-year-old from Bedfordshire has been named Young Business Person of the Year at the SME Bedfordshire Business Awards 2025.
Harvey Greenwood runs Greenwood Drones, which specialises in drone services across the UK, working in sectors such as construction, marketing and property.

Most recently, he used his skills to photograph the Bedford Dragon Boat Race which took place in June.
Since launching the business in 2023, his clients now include Luton Town FC, DEFRA and the drinks brand Barr.
Describing his win, Harvey said: “I felt incredibly fortunate and proud to receive the Young Business Person of the Year award at the Bedfordshire SME Awards 2025.
“It was a real moment of validation – recognising the early mornings, the sleepless nights, and all the effort that’s gone into building Greenwood Drones over the past two years.

“It was also a fantastic evening celebrating so many brilliant businesses across Bedfordshire. The love in the room for one another and all the amazing things going on in Bedfordshire was electric and I am so fortunate to be a part of a thriving and successful business community. To also win this award in front of my friends and family was an absolute honour.”
He is now looking forward to strengthening his network and partnerships.
Greenwood has been supporting the local community including free drone services for charities like Sue Ryder and going to Bedford College where he volunteered to deliver talks to students about his career path and what led him to starting his business as well as his struggles during education and the realities of starting a business at a young age.
Overcoming adversity

Despite struggling with reading and writing as well as being diagnosed with OCD and anxiety, Harvey was still able to achieve both GCSEs and A-levels.
As a young entrepreneur as he had to learn quickly and secure clients without a safety net and without always being taken seriously.
However, he says that Bedfordshire’s business community has been very supportive and embraced new talent and that has helped him on his journey.
“I have been so fortunate to make connections with businesses, entrepreneurs individuals across the county which I now see as good friends.”
We wish him all the best for the future.
