A fashion show with a difference made the headlines on BBC and ITV news last night, following an event in Bedford for World Mental Health Day.
Earlier this week, the Bedford Independent reported that Hannah Brown was putting on an empowering fashion show with a difference in the heart of Bedford to raise the issue of body positivity.
Hannah, who herself is recovering from an eating disorder and runs An Ear To Hear support service, worked with the ELFT NHS Recovery College and local designers to bring together messages of body confidence and positivity on a fashion show catwalk.
Hosted by the Harpur Centre in Bedford, the fashion show was featured on the BBC news and ITV’s Anglia News, putting the well-deserved spotlight on the work that mental health campaigners do in Bedford.
Following the event, Hannah said, “Yesterday’s event was just the most amazing celebration of body acceptance and equality.
“We had 25 models from all walk of life, ages and sizes. The garments were made by some incredible local designers including Rose Wilson Couture who just allowed each model to come alive with style and colour.”
