The Bedford Independent and Bedford Clanger have teamed up with Bedford Summer Sessions and four independent Bedford businesses to give readers the chance to win tickets to some of the biggest concerts coming to Bedford Park this summer.
Over this weekend (13-14 June), we will give away four pairs of tickets, each with Retreat upgrades, through a series of riddles posted on our Facebook and Instagram pages.
The competition is designed to celebrate two things Bedford does brilliantly: live music and independent businesses.
Readers will need to solve a riddle, identify which local business it refers to, and be the first person to arrive at the location during the competition window.
If you’re first, simply tell the person behind the counter why you’re there, have your photograph taken with the golden ticket and leave your email address. We’ll then make sure your tickets are sent to you before the concert.
The prizes
Throughout the weekend, readers will have a chance to win tickets to the following gigs at TX Maxx Presents Bedford Summer Sessions in Bedford Park.
- Thursday, 2 July – Two tickets with Retreat upgrades for Deacon Blue, with special guests Lightning Seeds.
- Friday, 3 July – Two tickets with Retreat upgrades for UB40 featuring Ali Campbell.
- Saturday, 4 July – Two tickets with Retreat upgrades for Tom Grennan, with support from Brooke Combe and Fiona-Lee.
- Sunday, 5 July – Two tickets with Retreat upgrades for Paul Weller, with special guest Miles Kane.
Supporting Bedford
This competition is about more than just giving away tickets.
It is part of a partnership between Bedford Summer Sessions, Bedford Independent and Bedford Clanger to support live music in Bedford and shine a spotlight on some of the town’s fantastic independent businesses.
We are delighted that four local businesses have agreed to take part and help us bring the challenge to life.
We’ll reveal who they are once each riddle has been solved, ensuring they receive the recognition they deserve for supporting the competition.
We’re also grateful to Bedford Summer Sessions for providing the tickets exclusively for Bedford Independent and Bedford Clanger readers.
How to take part
Keep an eye on the following Facebook and Instagram pages during the competition times:
When a riddle is posted at the times below, work out which business it describes and head there as quickly (and safely) as you can. The first person to arrive at the correct location during the competition window will win.
Readers must be the first to arrive at the shop or store revealed in the riddle and have their picture taken with the Golden Ticket to be eligible to claim the prize.
Winners must then provide their full name and email address so we can pass this on to the Bedford Summer Sessions’ team for delivery of their tickets. Winners’ names and photos will be used for future publicity.
