Two men have been jailed for a total of 23 years following separate investigations by Bedfordshire Police into serious sexual offences involving children.
Tevin Sherif, 21, was sentenced to 15 years in prison for attempted rape, after he entered a property in Luton in the early hours of 1 June 2024 and sexually assaulted a child. The child was able to alert their parents, prompting Sherif to flee.

Shortly afterwards, Sherif broke into a second property nearby where he was confronted by two women who called the police. He was arrested the same day and later remanded in custody.
On 28 March, Sherif, of Dolphin Drive, Houghton Regis, was handed an additional four-year sentence for trespass with intent to commit a criminal offence, to run concurrently.
The judge deemed him dangerous, imposing a five-year extended licence, a Sexual Harm Prevention Order, and a lifetime placement on the Sex Offenders Register.
“Horrendous experience”
In a separate case, 22-year-old Tyrese Wilson was jailed for eight years after pleading guilty to the rape of a child.
In 2021, Wilson arranged to meet the victim and another person in Luton, taking them to a property where he assaulted the victim despite their pleas to stop. The assault was reported to police shortly afterwards.
Wilson, of no fixed address, was sentenced on 26 March and also placed on the Sex Offenders Register for life.

Investigating officer Louise Shepherd, from Bedfordshire Police’s Protecting Vulnerable People team, said: “Rape and sexual abuse is the most horrendous experience for any child or young adult to have to go through as it not only ruins their young years but can stay with them through adulthood too.
“In both of these cases, these individuals demonstrated their dangerous nature, seeking opportunities to prey on vulnerable girls.
“We are committed to addressing all forms of abuse against children and strongly encourage anyone who suspects that a child is being sexually abused, or has been a victim themselves, regardless of when it occurred, to come forward.
“It is never too late to report a crime, and by doing so, you are helping us to bring these dangerous perpetrators to justice.”
She urged anyone who suspects abuse – whether current or historic – to report it, saying: “It is never too late… and by doing so, you are helping us to bring dangerous perpetrators to justice.”
Bedfordshire Police say they remain committed to tackling all forms of child abuse and male violence against women and girls, working alongside local and national partners to improve safety and support survivors.
Victims of rape or sexual assault can seek confidential help and advice through agencies including the Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC), Bedfordshire Domestic Abuse Partnership (BDAP), or the police directly.
