Two arrested after police chase stolen car through Bedford town centre

Two people have been arrested after police chased a stolen car through Bedford Town Centre.

Police were called to Tavistock Street at around 2pm earlier today and pursued the vehicle through the town centre, with assistance from the police helicopter.

The stolen vehicle collided with two other vehicles before coming to a stop in Cauldwell Street.

Major roads in Bedford, including, Ropewalk, Cauldwell Street, and Prebend Street, were closed for several hours, causing widespread disruption while police carried out an investigation.
