Tom Hardy makes a flying visit to Thurleigh

Award-winning actor Tom Hardy was in Thurleigh on Thursday 21 February, trying his hand at indoor skydiving at Twinwoods Adventure.

After getting a thorough briefing from the trained instructors, Tom donned his flight suit and helmet and prepared to fly in the biggest wind tunnel in Europe.

His group took turns to fly their bodies at wind speeds of over 120 mph. After just his second flight, he mastered a stable body position and was able to fly in a safe, neutral position without any assistance.

“He’s clearly a natural indoor skydiver!” said James Macdonald, head of adventure.  “Tom really loved the experience and said that he was keen to come back to fly another day. We’d be delighted to have him.”

Indoor Skydiving is suitable for everyone aged 5 and up. In April, Twinwoods Adventure will once again host one of the biggest indoor skydiving competitions, World Challenge, where teams from across the globe will travel to Bedford to compete.
