A third Covid-19 (coronavirus) vaccination centre will open on Monday 1 February at Bedford Heights on Manton Lane.
It will join the existing sites at Kings House on Ampthill Road and at the Guru Nanak Gurdwara in Queens Park.
The centre will open at 8am on Monday for residents with pre-arranged appointments.
In a statement, director of Bedford Heights, Tim Pain, said: “I am immensely pleased to have been able to support the NHS in the delivery of the nationwide vaccination programme against Covid-19 and welcome heartily the opening of the Bedfordshire community centre here at Bedford Heights on Monday.
“I would like to thank all the staff at Bedford Heights who have worked hard to get the centre up and running in a very short space of time.”
Cllr Louise Jackson, portfolio holder for public health and wellbeing, said: “I’m so pleased that a new centre will be opening on Monday – the vaccination programme for Bedford Borough is now well underway, and I want to thank all staff and volunteers for their amazing work.
“If you are invited to book an appointment, please make sure that you do so.”
Residents are reminded that vaccination centres are open just for pre-booked appointments and they should not turn up without booking in advance.
