Raise a glass to Bedfordshire GinFest’s summer debut

Bedfordshire’s largest outdoor gin festival is coming to Russell Park this summer, featuring talks, tastings, streetfood and live music.

On Saturday 25 June, it’s not just local and national gin brands on the menu at the Bedfordshire GinFest. Visitors can enjoy craft beers and wines too.

Bedford’s independent craft beer shop Beerfly will be hosting a craft beer bar – with a
range of modern style beers from local brewers including Three Hills, Duration and newcomers Baron Brewing.

They’ll be serving a full range of hazy, hoppy, sour and stout beers to suit all palates.

The ‘Talks & Tastings’ tent will host meet-the-maker interviews with winemakers,
brewes and gin producers, all on hand to talk through their stories and offer a few tasters.

Tim Edwards of Beerfly said: “Following the success of our Hops & Dreams festival
a few years ago, we’re excited to have a bar at GinFest and open up the wonderful world
of beers to a new audience.

“With the brewers on hand to talk through the beers, it should make for a fun afternoon”

Taste Bedford serving up sensational streetfood

Taste Bedford is providing hand-picked street food traders, a farmers market and local
produce stalls to complement the drinks offering.

Street food includes the ever-popular smokery Feast, locally-sourced meats
from Woburn Country Foods, Saf’s kitchen with Punjabi street food, the award-winning Good Times truck with their grilled cheese sandwiches and for the first time since Covid, the little crepe truck, la Crepe Franglaise returns.

Bedford faves, Foxy Wings, will be collaborating with street-foodies Wabadubgrub, to bring you their famous spicy chicken in a unique Mexican menu for the event.

Festival fun

The farmers’ market will be buzzing (literally) with Bedfordshire Beekeepers, plus look out
for fruit and veg from Black Cat Farm Shop, fudge, flowers, cheese and oils.

The Scotch eggs are making a welcome return and Bedford business newbies, SAY Doughnuts will be baking for the occasion too.

As well as produce, there will be an array of talented makers with craft stalls and kitchenalia including woodwork, pottery, metalwork, glassware and other homewares. You can even try your hand on a potters’ wheel thanks to Amanda Silk Ceramics.

Anne Harnan from TASTE said: “Curating the market is always exciting and we’re really
pleased with this year’s traders – lots of friendly favourites with a sprinkling of new and
unique stallholders.

“We’re thrilled that Taste is sponsored by Budgens of Bedford, supporting the community.”
