Goldington Academy hosts Inspire exhibition at new on-site arts centre

A purpose-built exhibition space at Goldington Academy will be open to the public on 10 March to showcase the work of four local artists.

The space is part of the school’s new £900,000 arts centre for the provision of art, drama, dance and music.

The Inspire exhibition will display the work of artists Amanda Silk, Anne-Marie Abbate, Fiona Wilson and Katie Allen and it is the first time exhibiting artists’ work has been publicly shown in the space at the Haylands Way site.

“We are really excited to welcome everyone to the ‘Inspire’ exhibition at Goldington Academy,” said Melissa Lopez, head of art at Goldington Academy.

“We consider the arts as a vital part of students’ learning, experience and wellbeing and as well as opening up the space to the local community in order to view local artwork, our aim is to engage and enthuse future generations with art and open their eyes to the many possibilities art could give them.

“Students are excited to see the artwork and to have a chance to speak with the artists in order to learn more about their careers and find out how they can follow in their footsteps.”

The exhibition will be held on 10 March from 5.30pm to 8pm and can be accessed through the side entrance of the school on Haylands Way, following signage directing you to the Exhibition.
