Competition: Win a pair of tickets to see The Specials at Bedford Park this June

Bedford Park Concerts is once again bringing incredible live music to the town this summer and the Bedford Independent has got tickets to give away to each of their events.

First up, we have three pairs of tickets to see The Specials who are headlining the opening weekend on Friday 3 June with support from the London indie quartet, Tribes.

Influential, important and exhilarating live, The Specials are a band embedded in this country’s DNA.

It is impossible to envisage the musical landscape without them, from the startling, angular Gangsters in 1979 to their swan song, the epoch-making Ghost Town in 1981. They infused ska with punk, homegrown political anxiety with wider issues.

As Jubilee fever grips the country, we think this the perfect night out to enjoy the bank holiday celebrations and extended bank holiday weekend. Find out more at

To be in with a chance of winning one of three pairs of tickets for the show, all you have to do is answer the following question:

Who did The Specials have a message for in one of their most iconic songs?
