Bedford band, Don Broco are celebrating their first UK number one album, just months after fellow Bedfordian, Tom Grennan topped the charts.
Their album, Amazing Things, was digitally released last October, but due to a global vinyl shortage, the band had to delay the physical release until this year.
Ahead of their tour, the rock four-piece are playing a six-show residency at Bedford Esquires this month, the venue where it all began.
We did it!!!!!! This one is for you guys 🏆 thank you so much GREATEST FANS IN THE WORLD 🧡🧡🧡 A proper emotional rollercoaster of an album release and we couldn’t have gotten through it without you all, thank you so much from the bottom of our hearts, Rob, Matt, Si & Tom xxxx pic.twitter.com/3hEbyhbehg

Speaking to the Bedford Clanger, Esquires’ Gareth Barber said: “Well they did it, and a second UK number one for an artist from Bedford in less than 12 months, which in itself is incredible when you consider how small our town is [you do the maths – Ed].
“It’s an amazing achievement for Don Broco and their team, showing again as Tom Grennan did that fan power can upset the odds.
“We are really looking forward to the boys coming to play their six-show, three-day residency here next weekend – anyone who’s seen Don Broco before knows how much love they have for Bedford and the venue and that is reciprocated.”
So, could there be a hat-trick of Bedford chart-toppers this year? Gareth thinks so.
“Up next we are tipping Alfie Templeman to make it three from three when he releases his debut album – there must be something in the water…”
