Your guide to the Christmas church services in Bedford

By Bedford Town Centre Churches Together

Is there a greater joy and wonder than seeing a newborn child for the first time? Everyone looks with great concentration at the child – who is she/he like? Whose characteristics will this child bear? Well, certainly both his father’s and mother’s, as all children do.

This Child will have the Father’s Infinite Love, His Father’s bottomless Mercy, His Father’s Tenderness and Compassion, Understanding and infinite Patience. He will be filled with Peace, and be called the Prince of Peace, the Wonder Worker, the Redeemer of Mankind. Jesus will be looking at the world with His Father’s Heart and Eyes.

His Mother would have given Him all that is best in human form. She would have given Him all the very best of all that we are capable of holding in our human condition.

So at Christmas, we all come to that most privileged place of all, the little stable in Bethlehem to gaze at the Child who will go through human life in all its richness of joy, but also pain and suffering, yet always in the context and with the Knowledge of His Father’s Will and His own destiny: to secure Eternal Life for US!

This Christmas, churches in Bedford will celebrate that glorious moment in humanity’s history.

Please note the details below. Everyone is invited to join in the communal but also individual offer of thanks as we gaze at the newborn Child and see ALL that He will become.

In return, He, God who is Love, will shower us with His gifts and the greatest of them: the Eternal Life for each one of us.
