Relaunch of the Bedford Clanger’s essential ‘What’s on’ guide

This weekend, the Bedford Clanger is relaunching its essential ‘What’s on’ guide, after an 18-month pandemic-induced break.

The guide will be published every Thursday and will feature our top picks of the best live music, theatre, art, culture, comedy, food and shopping taking place over the following 10 days.

“2021 marks 10 years since we first launched the Bedford Clanger, with the aim of putting Bedford on the cultural map,” said Clanger founder, Erica Roffe.

“While the print version of the Clanger is no more, our weekly ‘What’s on’ guide gives us the opportunity to continue to shine a spotlight on the wealth of events, gigs, performances and exhibitions that are happening right on our doorstep.”

Whether it’s catching the latest must-see band at Esquires, a classical concert at the Corn Exchange or thought-provoking theatre at The Place, you’ll find all the information you need right here, as well as clickable links to book tickets straight away.

“Before the pandemic, our cultural roundup just featured the following weekend,” said Erica. “With the relaunch, we have decided to cover events for the next 10 days, to give readers a chance to plan ahead.”

Paula Walker has been the Clanger’s theatre editor since 2012 and is passionate about showcasing the quality of theatre on our doorstep.

“It’s been a long 18 months without live performances at Bedford’s theatres, so I’m really looking forward to sharing the best of what’s coming up,” said Paula.

“We are so lucky to have some great venues in our town that attract top-quality touring performers alongside local am-dram groups. There’s so much variety to choose from.”

If you have an event you would like to submit for the Clanger’s ‘What’s on’ guide, please email news@bedfordindependent.co.uk with the event and date in the subject field. Event information should be submitted at least seven days before the Thursday publication date.
