Starting this Saturday, the sixth national FiverFest will be running in towns and villages up and down the country and once again, Bedford is taking part.
The celebration of independent businesses at the heart of our town centres encourages shoppers to head to the High Street to pick up £5 deals from old and new favourites alike.
It’s a chance to show the love to your town centre businesses without breaking the bank, and for them to put together some great offers too.
This autumn, FiverFest runs from Saturday 9 – 23 October and as ever, Bedford will have one of the highest numbers of participating businesses, thanks to the determination and dedication of organiser, Helen Patterson of Town Centre Champions.
You can find information on all the businesses taking part and their FiverFest offers on the Town Centre Champions’ website.
“This will be the fifth time Bedford has taken part and once against it’s going to be a cracking event,” said Helen.
“There are over 70 independent businesses taking part, 14 of which are taking part for their first time; My Nana’s Kitchen, Rosehip Bespoke Floristry and Bedford Running Festival to name but a few.”
The final Bedford Flea of the year is on Sun 10 October and two stallholders, Nutcellars and Hay Lane Flowers, will have special £5 offers available on their stall as they too are taking part in Fiver Fest.
While Helen definitely doesn’t have favourites, she does single out a couple of Bedford indies for a special mention.
“The iconic Herd Burger will be making another FiverFest appearance, as too will be the freshly baked speciality choux buns from Koko Black.”
I think we know where we’ll find Helen for the next few days…
