Bedford designer nominated for national business advisor award

The super-talented designer responsible for the Bedford Clanger‘s recent re-brand is nominated in the E Nation awards and she needs our votes.

Emma Lemon has been listed as one of the top 50 business advisors in the UK by Enterprise Nation, a community of over 75,000 people passionate about supporting small businesses.

In addition, she’s been named among the top five in the category of Branding + Design.

You can cast your vote for Emma here. It’s possible to scroll past the other categories to just vote in Emma’s category. The poll closes at midnight tonight.

“I’m really excited to be nominated for an award after my first year of being self-employed,” said Emma.

“Normally I live vicariously through my clients and their wins so it’s nice to have a win of my own.”

Emma first worked with us back in 2016 while still at college, creating the branding for BedPop’s Castle Quay Weekender. Even then we knew she was destined for great things.

After graduating – and winning the Student of the Year award – she went on to design the print editions of the Bedford Clanger for a number of years and created the BedPop Christmas programmes.

In 2017 Emma developed the branding for BedPop’s first Taste Bedford food and music festival and more recently worked on a coronavirus awareness leaflet for the Bedford independent.

Earlier this year, we worked together again on a rebrand of the Bedford Clanger to coincide with its online relaunch.

“It has been a pleasure to work with Emma over the last six years and to watch her confidence and business grow,” said Erica Roffe, founder of the Bedford Clanger and BedPop.

“From personal experience, I know that any small business working with Emma is in safe hands and we hope that our readers will join us in voting for her in the e-nation awards.”

Emma specialises in creating brand strategies, visual identities, custom logotypes and web design for clients that include jewellery and lifestyle brands, magazines and also fellow creatives.

“Being a solo business owner means I don’t get the usual performance reviews or feedback (other than testimonials) for a job well done,” said Emma.

“I’m forever grateful to the Clanger and BedPop for giving me a head start in the freelance world while I was still studying.”

You can vote for Emma here. The e-nation award winners will be announced on 25 November.
