All day festival announced at Esquires this summer

A multi-room and outdoor festival will take place this summer at Esquires featuring some of the best new and emerging artists in the UK.

CEREMONY #1 is an all-dayer in association with The Pad Presents, The Roar Club and Club Biscuit which will take place from midday on 17 July.

“We’re extremely proud of the diverse line up we’ve pulled together for the multi-room event,” said Esquries’ owner, Gareth Barber. “And outside, blender have put together a strong line up of their own for the outdoor stage.”

The day features Billy Nomates, Big Joanie, Pins, John, Crows, Feet, Talk Show, Lynks, Grandmas House, Beach Lab, Regressive Left, Low Girl, Thyla and Enjoyable Listens.

Blender are showcasing local talent including Enne, JW Paris, Viddy and Banton, with more to be announced.

“It’s great to finally get this announced,” said The Pad Presents’ Kevin Bailey.

As a team of Bedford promoters, having the opportunity to put an exciting line up together while also having a chance to address the gender imbalance evident across UK festivals with our line up was an important part of the booking process for us.”

Gareth described working with The Pad Presents, The Roar Club and Club Biscuit as a “ray of sunshine” after a very challenging year.

“When we started booking this, we basically looked at artists we’d wanted to book for a long time but for one reason or another had slipped through the net, so it’s nice to have it come together so well,” he said.

“The venue will be buzzing on the day, not only is the main line up strong, but blender have booked a localised line up for an outdoor stage and we’ll have some great street food vendors in too.

“Hopefully this will be the first of a series of ‘CEREMONY’ all-day events at Esquires.

Rick Skilbeck at Club Biscuit said that everyone involved hopes to make CEREMONY an annual event.

“All the promoters involved are very excited about the line-up,” he said.

“We had lots of conversations over Zoom about who we wanted to book and we kept coming up with the same names, most of which we’ve managed to book. It’s a real diverse mixture of acts and genres which we are proud to be bringing to Bedford”

CEREMONY #1 is on Saturday 17 July. Doors open at midday and the aftershow party is 11pm – 3am. Tickets are £22.50 from Seetickets. If you are an Esquires’ Crowdfunder Silver or Gold cardholder, you can access this event with your pass.
