Life after Lockdown – Gemma from The White Emporium

Whilst we all take heed to social distancing measures we can’t help but imagine our first day without ‘lockdown’.

We’d love to hear your views on what you are missing most in the Borough?  Please complete this very quick survey so when we come out the other side, we can all celebrate these wonderful places.

Today it’s Gemma Lander from The White Emporium, a venue stylist and prop hire company for weddings and events. Unfortunately as weddings and events have been postponed, Gemma is currently working on her modern calligraphy and floral sketches which she is very excited about!

£5 from every one sold will be donated to Bedford Food Bank and you can orders yours here.

Which restaurant will you go to first?
I really want to take my husband to Mamma Concetta, I went with the girls a few months ago and their pizza was amazing and I have been raving about it ever since.

Where will you buy your first pint?
I don’t drink pints, but if the sun is shining it will be to our local The Polhill Arms to sit in their garden or if out with the girls a cheeky cocktail at Bears and Tales.

Where will you buy your first coffee?
I am really missing The Longholme’s Chai Lattes and Gluten free dairy free brownies, plus it’s a great spot for the view.

Which shop will you head to first and what will you buy?
Probably Epanoui and to treat myself to a piece of jewellery as a reminder for everything we have been through.

Where will you go on your first out of town trip?
The Norfolk coast, I am missing the beach.

Where will your first walk be?
We are very fortunate we live right next to Grange Estate River Valley Park so can get out for some lovely walks. But I am looking forward to taking my little one back for a walk along the Embankment, – ducks, Russell Park and cake stops, it really is toddler heaven.

What’s the main thing you have missed? e.g live music, pubs, eating out, cinema, exercise etc
Being able to get out and explore, having a toddler I love having the freedom of all the amazing outdoor space Bedford has and there is always a cake shop nearby!

First sporting or outdoor activity (to watch or participate in)?
I am really missing my pole dancing classes at Pole Heaven Fitness in Ampthill.

Three words to sum up Bedford
Creative, Friendly, Diverse.

Don’t forget to tell us what you are going to do after lockdown – the survey is very quick.

Stay safe everyone
