SpectaculArts comes to Bedford Park this Saturday

This summer sees the first every Bedford Street Arts Festival.  You can become a part of Bedford’s history by attending this much anticipated, multicultural, energy-filled, dance-fused, music, food and fun carnival extravaganza. We’ll see you there!

Throughout the day there will be a chance to get involved in lots of different activities in the four main areas of Dance, Arts, Theatre and Music.

Explore the heritage history area or just sit back and enjoy the beautiful setting in Bedford Park.  At 1pm and 4pm the street arts parade will encircle the park, taking just over an hour. The parade features a mixture of 12 local Bedford groups who will be walking the route accompanied by sound systems – pausing to perform and dance for the crowds.  Many of these groups will perform in cultural dress and Rhythm of the City Salsa band will end the procession sponsored by Eagle Brewery.

All areas will be open until 6pm (there are 14 food vendors plus three bars), with the main stage open until 8pm. “We have a great line up of DJs for the day,” said organiser, Sharon De Leonardis. “We’ve got some great performances to end the day bringing us altogether to truly see the unity within Bedford.”
