CC Smugglers – The Final Show(s)

A band close to Bedford’s heart, it’s the very last show from the CC Smugglers who have announced they are sadly calling it a day. The band have come under many pressures recently, including losing over £20K in the Pledge Music fiasco in 2018.

Always one of Esquires’ absolute faves, the band have decided to play two final shows at the venue to say goodbye.

Shake off the winter cold with a special, one-off night of blistering Rock ‘n’ Roll with Marc Almond, his long-term guitarist/sideman Neal X and Iggy Pop’s stupendous rhythm section, Ben Ellis and Mat Hector, who together are “The Loveless”.

Drawing material from Marc’s immense back catalogue with nods to T. Rex, Iggy, David Bowie, 60s R&B and Garage Rock this will be a night to remember.

New Year’s Eve Party ft Joe Talbot (IDLES) DJ set

Esquires said they wanted to do something special for this NYE and it looks like they’ve pulled it out of the bag!
IDLES graced Esquires’ stage in 2017 their Brutalism tour and DJ’d last Xmas too. Their head honcho, Joe Talbot will be spinning an eclectic mix of indie, hip hop and beats alongside regular Pad DJs Colonel G Chunks and Sam Voidoid to ring in the new decade.

This Biennial event is always an excellent way to kick-start your Christmas celebrations.

The programme contains a mixture of old and new carols for the choir and band and also some favourites for the audience to join in with the singing. Bedford Town Band will also perform some items of their own which always delight the audience.
