Companions’ Bread Club is held the first Saturday of every month from 10am at their bakery on Mill Street. Relaxed and informal, it’s basically, a coffee morning themed around bread! Membership is just £5 a year which allows the use of Companions’ bread oven by arrangement; then £1 per meeting to cover refreshments. “Each session is different,” explained Companions Real Bread founder, Maggie Rich. “Sometimes we choose a type of bread, have a go at home and bring along the results to share and discuss the recipe and techniques we’ve used. We’ve also had hands-on bread demonstrations, including chapattis and naan bread.”
In addition to Bread Club, Companions run Workshops once a month for a maximum of five people. Said Maggie, The cost is £60 per person and the team are very happy to create bespoke workshops to a particular group or product.
