Harrold & Odell
Harrold sits to the north of the Great River Ouse, 15 miles from both Northampton and Milton Keynes and 9 miles north west of Bedford with a population of around 1500.
It attracts many visitors to the Harrold Odell Country Park, a quarry site that has been developed and maintained by the council since 1980 to house a number of habitats.
The park has wetlands, play areas, skate park, fishing (in its two lakes and on the banks of the Ouse) and visitor centre with café.
The village schools became part of the Sharnbrook Federation in 2017 and there is a medical practice, playing fields, pub and couple of take away/restaurants.
In 2013 it was voted in a Sunday Times survey as one of the Top 100 places to live in the UK with a Good Neighbours program and an array of activities in the village that include amateur dramatics, choir, WI, allotments and bell ringing.

Odell sits north west of Bedford with a small population (under 300 in the last census) and has a rich history with evidence of a farm from the Roman Invasion. The Church of All Saints was built in the 15th century although evidence of a church dates to the 12th century.
Flooded sand and quarry pits adjoining Harrold led to the formation of the Harrold Odell Country Park opening in the 1980’s, home to two lakes and abundant wildlife in the managed habitats.
It is also home to Santa Pod, a drag racing track built on a former RAF airfield that hosts 50 plus events a year that include National drag racing, VW festivals, retro and classic car events.
