This Saturday (7 September), a unique creative space is opening in Bedford, launched by jewellery designer/maker, Lorna Henderson.
Alongside Emma Talbot of Clemency Jude, Lorna will be opening the doors of Lavender Moss in the old Edwardian Arcade, selling handmade, sustainable jewellery and fashion items at affordable prices.
The shop will have a consultation space where customers can discuss jewellery commissions and repurposed fashion accessories from Emma’s sustainable textile business.
“We want to offer more than just products,” said Lorna. “Our concept is to create a meaningful shopping experience that celebrates creativity, sustainability, and collaboration.

“By focusing on bringing original designs to the community, from initial inspiration through the making process to the final high-quality pieces that will sit alongside the other fabulous independent businesses already in the town.”
Emma said, “I will be working with clients to encourage them to look at their wardrobes first and consider how we could change the design of an item instead of always buying new.
“Customers can also choose their fabric on one of my hairband designs for example, and order a bespoke piece, which will continue to encourage sustainable and slow fashion choices.
“I am so excited to be working with Lorna and our other makers in this exciting new project.”

Ahead of the launch on Saturday, Lorna said: “We want to have our doors open and create a welcoming and friendly space.
“We’re giving our clients the confidence to ‘wear the dress’ and we hope to inspire happiness, curiosity and self-acceptance in all our designs so the wearer feels confident and ultimately happy in themselves.”
