The Cellar Bar on Bedford High Street recently celebrated its second birthday and to get in the party mood, they are offering one lucky Bedford Independent reader a £50 bar tab.
Owners Marcus and Cathy Wright said they can hardly believe how quickly the last two years have flown by.
“It’s certainly been an adventure,” said Cathy.
“We set out to create a safe, welcoming and uniquely different bar in Bedford, somewhere people could go and enjoy decent beer and wonderful cocktails as well as some live music.
“Fast forward two years and we still think our cocktails are wonderful, but the music has taken on a life of its own.”
As you’ll see from our weekly What’s On Guide, published every Wednesday and kindly sponsored by The Cellar Bar, they are host to everything from open mic nights to drag acts, comedy to live music, meaning there’s something for everyone.
“The feedback we received early on was that people of all ages felt comfortable and safe in The Cellar Bar and we have made that a priority from day one,” said Cathy.
“They also loved the live music and unique underground vibe.
“People know that we have a zero-tolerance policy to inappropriate behaviour and have never put profit over our customer’s safety.
“Customers have commented that ordinarily they would not consider a night out on Bedford High street, but now feel that they have a venue they can enjoy themselves in.”
With plenty of new ideas for 2025, The Cellar Bar is looking forward to welcoming back their regular performers alongside some exciting new bands.
