A cyclist was seriously injured in a hit-and-run collision on Christmas Eve near Tesco on Cardington Road.

Now police want to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the incident.

It happened just before 7pm and involved a dark coloured vehicle, the driver failed to stop at the scene.

One man, the cyclist, was taken to hospital with serious but not life-threatening injuries.

PC Ben Chance is appealing for witnesses and said: “I’d like to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time, who saw the collision, or who knows who is responsible.

“The cyclist sustained serious injuries, and we’re keen to speak to the driver of the car to find out what happened in the moments leading up to the collision.”

If you saw or know anything about the incident please call 101 quoting reference number 282 of 24 December.
