Polam School in Bedford, which caters for children aged 12 months to 9 years, has been judged ‘outstanding’ in all areas of its registered nursery provision (2 years and under) for the third inspection in a row.
In a report published by Ofsted, inspectors in the nursery found that, “…staff know the children’s interests, stage of development and personalities exceptionally well.”
Inspectors noted that, “Children behave exceptionally well. Staff talk to them in an engaging and gentle way, helping to contribute to the calm environment.”
The report also noted that the Nursery provides an excellent foundation for future learning, stating that, “All children, including those who speak English as an additional language, make exceptional progress. They are well prepared for the next stage in their learning at pre-school, and ultimately school.”
Headteacher Jessica Harris said, “As a Headteacher, you never take any inspection for granted and achieving our hat-trick this time is particularly rewarding as our nursery has grown significantly since our last inspection, with new staff, external providers and lots more children!
“I just want to say a big thank you to our brilliant nursery team who work so hard to provide a nurturing home from home environment, along with challenging and fun learning opportunities for the children. I know that my team are outstanding but it is wonderful to have that recognised by Ofsted once again.”
