Pavilion at the Park reopens under new management

Dawn and Martin at the Pavilion in Bedford Park

Five months after lockdown began, the Pavilion at the Park has now reopened and is under new management.

Martin and Dawn, who also run Gallone’s Ice Cream parlour, have taken over the popular cafe in Bedford Park from the previous owner, Emma Garrett.

“It truly is an honour to carry on the legacy that Emma began,” Martin told the Bedford Independent.

“When I first came to Bedford in 2015 I spent a lot of time at the Pavilion and it’s a place I’ve always felt at home.

“We’re really looking forward to reopening fully and welcoming back the Pavilion’s customers, groups like the Lemon and Ginger crafters and resuming Supper Clubs.”

The current opening times are 8am til sunset and for the time being, the cafe’s menu has been slightly adapted due to government guidelines.

“The Pavilion is a magical place to work and I love being part of the community,” said Martin. “We can’t wait to carry on sharing it with the customers who love it too.”

Now more than ever, we need your help to fund the Bedford Independent’s quality journalism that serves our community...

We choose to champion editorial independence, meaning we report the facts without bias and can stand up to those in power when we believe it’s needed.

We can give a voice to people in our community whose voices may otherwise not be heard. And we don’t have a paywall, so everyone can read the stories we publish for free.

But in this time of crisis, many news organisations all over the world are facing existential threat, with advertising revenues plummeting. We’re no different.

We work hard every day to bring you news, commentary, entertainment and announcements from across Bedford. We hope that, with your help, we’ll be able to continue this for many years to come.
