Over 70s encouraged to keep on moving

Over 70s exercise

If you’re over 70, the Sports Development team’s range of gentle exercise classes could be the perfect way to keep moving, try something new and meet new people.

Returning for 2019, the  ‘Over 70s’ programme includes chair-based fitness Pilates, table tennis, badminton and stretch and balance classes.

Already established at Bedford Central Library and Bedford International Athletic Stadium, a new session starts at John Bunyan Sports and Fitness from Tuesday 8th January.

There is no need to book in advance, and the sessions cost £4 each which includes a tea or coffee afterwards. All equipment is provided, just wear comfortable clothing and footwear, and bring a drink.

To find out more visit www.bedford.gov.uk/over70s or pick up a flyer at Bedford Central Library.

Now more than ever, we need your help to fund the Bedford Independent’s quality journalism that serves our community...

We choose to champion editorial independence, meaning we report the facts without bias and can stand up to those in power when we believe it’s needed.

We can give a voice to people in our community whose voices may otherwise not be heard. And we don’t have a paywall, so everyone can read the stories we publish for free.

But in this time of crisis, many news organisations all over the world are facing existential threat, with advertising revenues plummeting. We’re no different.

We work hard every day to bring you news, commentary, entertainment and announcements from across Bedford. We hope that, with your help, we’ll be able to continue this for many years to come.
