From today, part-time workers and other regular travellers on Thameslinkand Great Northern affected by disruption following the introduction of the May 2018 timetable can claim additional compensation. Claims must be made by 31 January 2019.

Thameslink and Great Northern season ticket holders have been able to claim additional compensation since the scheme opened, in August. These passengers have until 30 November to complete their claims.

Now, Thameslink and Great Northern passengers without season tickets can qualify for up to four weeks’ worth of fares if they made a minimum of three days’ return travel in any one week between 20 May and 28 July to or from the most affected stations.

Those who do not have their tickets from the qualifying period can provide other proof of travel. Further information is available on the website railcompensation.thameslinkrailway.com, including frequently asked questions and a quick and easy-to-use eligibility checker.

Govia Thameslink Railway Chief Executive Officer Patrick Verwer said: “It’s important that regular travellers who did not have season tickets are compensated for what happened earlier this year and I would urge these passengers to visit our website.”

This compensation is in addition to regular Delay Repay and enhanced compensation so any customer who claimed either of these in May or July can still receive additional compensation.
