A new escape room is launching in Bedford next month, giving successful participants the chance to spring themselves from an ex-Serco prison van.
Now celebrating their seventh year in business, Don’t Get Locked In Escape Rooms, based in Allhallows, have just announced their latest escape room experience, which will be called FUBAR!*

The former prison van, located in their car park, has been completely transformed into an escape room for this unique, immersive game, suitable for two to four players.
You’ll begin by finding yourself sitting in a cell in a prison van on your way to court. Your lawyer reckons you’ll go down for between 10 to 15 years, depending on what sort of day the judge is having.
But there is a twist…

Will you actually reach court? Or will your problem-solving skills prove too much for the security measures, and will you make your escape?
The new game, which runs alongside their six existing escape rooms, launches on Monday, 4 August, but booking is now live, perfect for a summer holiday activity.
Co-owner and escape room creator, Marcus Wright, described the challenges of making the new experience.
“Since the start of our escape room business, we’ve done all of the design of the rooms and builds ourselves, and as such deliberately chose the location in Allhallows due to the open plan layout,” he said.
“It means that we have a blank canvas to work with, with no limitations on what we could do from a design perspective, allowing us to put up walls wherever we choose to when designing the other six rooms.
“FUBAR! is unique in that it is in a pre-designed space – a stationary ex-Serco prison van in our private car parking space on our site.
“As a designer, it means that I have to work with what I’ve got – cells and corridor space only – and some of the crazy ideas that we come up with, normally wouldn’t be an issue but sometimes we hae to say no to ourselves; but that’s the joy of creativity.”
