Motorists advised to avoid Cardington as police and fire crews tackle huge blaze

Beds Fire and Rescue

Police and fire crews are urging people to avoid Cardington as they tackle a building fire in the village.

The blaze is in a large building on Cople Road in Cardington, and residents of Willington and Blunham are also advised to keep their windows and doors closed to avoid smoke inhalation.

Eye-witnesses say that the incident is near the King’s Arms pub.

Bedfordshire Police have advised motorists to avoid the area until the fire crews have got the blaze under control.

This is an ongoing incident and we will update the story with more information throughout the day.
