As our thoughts begin to turn to the festive season, it’s time the launch the Mayor’s annual art competition, with the winning design appearing on Mayor Tom Wootton’s official Christmas card.

This year, it’s open to pupils between the ages of 14 and 18 who are in education within Bedford Borough.

Mayor Tom Wootton said: “I invite students to unleash their artistic prowess and capture the essence of Christmas in their unique designs. This competition is a fantastic opportunity for our talented young artists to shine and spread the festive spirit across Bedford Borough.”

Submissions must reach the Mayor’s office (Bedford Borough Hall, Cauldwell Street, Bedford, MK42 9AP) no later than Wednesday, 1 November, 2023.

  • Only students ages 14-18 may enter
  • No Glitter
  • No 3D additions to the art (as this makes it difficult to scan)

Students’ work should be in the standard A4 format, either portrait and landscape.

Please remember that the design submitted must be an entirely original creation, crafted solely by the pupil.
