Mark Rutherford students are after your Money Money Money for New York dance trip

Bedford students are getting their dancing shoes on, organising a fabulous Abba tribute night on March 9, fundraising for their once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to dance in New York.

The fundraiser will take place at Mark Rutherford School, starting at 7.30pm and promises to be a fun-filled night of all things Abba together with a competition for the best 70’s outfit.

The students will be visiting New York as part of an educational dance programme and will be taking part in dance workshops given by professional Broadway choreographers and watching hit Broadway shows.

The students don’t want the learning to stop there though and are hoping their Abba night will allow them to take part in an Alvin Ailey Dance Class and view some of the incredible sights New York has to offer with a bus tour.

Tickets for the event are £10 and you can book yours here.

Now more than ever, we need your help to fund the Bedford Independent’s quality journalism that serves our community...

We choose to champion editorial independence, meaning we report the facts without bias and can stand up to those in power when we believe it’s needed.

We can give a voice to people in our community whose voices may otherwise not be heard. And we don’t have a paywall, so everyone can read the stories we publish for free.

But in this time of crisis, many news organisations all over the world are facing existential threat, with advertising revenues plummeting. We’re no different.

We work hard every day to bring you news, commentary, entertainment and announcements from across Bedford. We hope that, with your help, we’ll be able to continue this for many years to come.
