Alex Gentry, of no fixed address, was charged today with two counts of arson and one count of arson with intent to endanger life following three separate incidents in Kempston and Bromham.
The incidents, all in the early hours of yesterday morning, 8 January, were at:
- A barn in Wood End Lane, Kempston
- A property in Green End Road, Kempston
- A car storage yard in Great Ouse Way, Bromham
He has been remanded in custody due to appear at Luton Crown Court on 8 February.
In a statement, Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “Crews from across the county worked tirelessly to put out all three fires, from receiving the first call in to our control room just before twenty past midnight well into the afternoon on 8 January.
“The fires will be subject to investigation and we will be supporting our colleagues at Bedfordshire Police to establish how each of these fires started”.
Bedfordshire Police say they do not believe these incidents to be connected to the fire at Bedford Hospital’s North Wing last week (Thursday).
