Bedfordshire Police have arrested a man after reports he was dealing to children at Lurke Street Car Park.

Officers from the Bedford Community Policing Team and North Bedfordshire Rural Community Policing Team stopped eight people for searches, but the dealer managed to getaway.

He was later arrested after a short search by officers from Operation Boson and Operation Meteor operations, as well as the Response and Armed Policing Unit.

Suspected class A and confirmed class B drugs were found and he was arrested for possession with intent to supply.

Children involved in the incident have been safeguarded.
