Letters: Never mind the Bus Station, what about the loss of our Ox-Cam services?

The yellow double decker bus to Oxford

Dear editor

Reading a recent post about the unsavoury nature of the Bus Station I recently visited to look myself. For sure there’s no comparison between the reasonable railway station and the enclosed part of the bus station.

Of even greater concern (to me) is the loss of the former long-distance OxCam X5 coach service with WC and space for bikes.

The Cambridge route has been replaced by the 905 as seen which turns into a meander of the Cambridge Science Park but still not terminating near the rail station – so much for travelling to Stansted or Norwich etc.

The Oxford service pays lip service to the X5 name (X denoting Express) but is another ghastly double decker – albeit in yellow livery as per the pic.
